From 5th to 16th March 2018 the work-based learning pilot mobility was held in Varaždin, Croatia. The students from Portugal successfully completed the project assignments.
The 2nd Steering Committee & Technical Committee Meeting took place in Bilbao, Spain from 20 to 21st of September 2017. During this meeting the partners discussed about the fulfilment of some of the objectives of ECWORK project such as the Teacher’s Guide, The Employer’s Guide and the Student’s toolkit.CIPAR
In the period 11. to 14. December 2016, the first transnational meeting in Nicosia, Cyprus. The meeting was held in the partner institution Intercollege in Cyprus, as the host, while the arrangement and the conduct of the meeting was taken over by Electromechanical School from Varaždin, as project coordinator.

In the period from 6. to 10. March 2017. seminars and workshops organized by IDEC S.A. from Piraeus in Greece. The seminar was attended by Krunoslav Grudiček and Dubravko Tomasović from Electromechanical School (Varaždin, Croatia, http://www.ess.hr), Minerva Garcias and Natassa Kazatzidou as seminar leaders from IDEC (Piraeus, Greece, http: // www. IdeaGr), Teresa Santos, Andre Fonseca and Ines Silva from the partner school FORAVE (Lousad, Portugal, http://www.forave.pt), Isabel Arechaga and Jose Antonio Soto from Fondo Formacion Euskadi (Basque-Spain, http: //www.ffeuskadi.net) and Konstantinos Kiousis from the IEK DELTA school (Athens, Greece, http://www.delta-iek.gr).
After the introductory part of the partner organization they presented their institutions, experiences in EU projects and their expectations of the project. Each organization also presented qualifications (vocational education for pupils) for which this project envisages the transnational implementation of practical teaching in line with EU mobility goals.
The seminar leader presented the objectives of the workshops: getting acquainted with the ECVET system, harmonizing the learning outcomes for the aforementioned qualifications and getting acquainted with the way of drafting the required documents and contracts ("Memorandum of Understanding" and "Learning Agreement"). Examples of good practice are similar in previous EU projects.
Partners from Croatia and Portugal described the learning outcomes in the terms of knowledge, skills and competencies, the development of a module of the teaching unit, the methods of performance, detailed criteria and methods, and the similarities of the practical units of the mobility education were identified and enabled the completion of the O1 document. As a common teaching unit, PLCs (programmable logic controllers) are available which are available to students from Croatia and Portugal, so mobility of the practical part of the education is possible. The seminar leader supervised the description of the learning outcomes, knowledge, skills and competences to comply with ECVET rules and practice. Partners from Portugal and Croatia have decided on a 60-hour practical tuition to be held in companies with whom there is already a co-operation for practical training of students under the guidance of a tutor and a teacher's tutorial in the school lab.
The results were stored on a shared virtual storage space, and then the participants, divided into groups, started drafting the Teacher's Guidebook, the Employer's Manual, and the Student Manual. The seminar leader acquainted the participants with the examples and requirements that are being put in preparation of such manuals. Participants from Portugal and Croatia drafted the Teachers Manual, the Employers Manual, and the Student Manual was drawn up by participants from Spain and Greece. The results are also saved on a shared virtual storage space.
The seminar leader has also demonstrated ways of recognizing education in accordance with ECVET methodology and practical experiences from student and student exchange piloting.
Particularly worthy to note are the two essential documents that are also the Annexes of the Manual, namely the Memorandum of Understanding and the Learning Agreement.
The hosts organized an afternoon tour of the Acropolis for the participants of the seminar and two joint dinners.
From March 27.-28., 2017., at the Vocational Training Seminar
An expert associate of Electromechanical School Ratko Kovačić participated in the work-based learning toolkit in Cologne.
In an international two-day seminar organized and supported by the German Agency for EU Programs and our Mobility Agency and EU Programs, 28 participants from many countries met with the internet platform www.wbl.toolkit.eu and learned how to use this tool. With solving tasks and working in groups, participants have mastered the skills of using this tool. The platform itself is a set of useful tools that can be used to search for various completed EU vocational education projects that are related to work-based learning (professional practice). All projects refer to practical learning in realistic working conditions.
It is a great advantage and benefit for the Electromechanical School to establish new contacts and exchange experiences with the experts involved. The seminar was attended by schoolchildren who are comparable to ESA and are planning to continue their cooperation with them by exchanging students and KA2 projects (Hungary, Poland, Estonia). On the business social network a closed group of seminar participants was formed to continue the joint activities.
This platform will help to implement the current EU project in the field of vocational education - ECWORK and for the future planning of the international student practice.
Seminars of this kind make it possible to establish new contacts, acquire new knowledge and are very useful for the school.
